:- 5.0 out of 5 stars from James Nealon -- A Renaissance of Interstellar Conflict and Empire : The concluding book of the Cochrane's Company trilogy answered an old conumdrum raised by Niccolo Machiavelli: what happens when Commodore Cochrane can no longer conceal from his employers that he is a highly capable mercenary? The answer is a bit surprising and a twist on many old tales and histories. The book and the series are highly recommended for those looking at hard science fiction, space opera, techno-thrillers, and espionage or spy novels. - 5.0 out of 5 stars from Javahead -- A satisfying wrap-up to a solid series : Warning: this book will be *very* hard to understand if you've not already read the first two books. The Cochrane's Company books aren't, quite, as much the one-novel-in-three-books lump as, say, The Lord of The Rings, but this is the book that wraps up all the dangling story lines and brings the story arc to a conclusion. - 5.0 out of 5 stars from OldFan -- Well-crafted Space Opera can still be found! : This excellent series is in its third book and really hitting its stride. The central premise of a mercenary company has been done before - but not this well. The details of technology, tactics, FINANCE, and politics are worked out to a markedly better decree than ever before. I admit to liking this approach, even if some might think it slows down the pace of action: it enhances credibility (which id sorely lacking in some other examples of this genre). - 5.0 out of 5 stars from Scott Osmond -- Peter Grant's Best Series So Far : The thing I've enjoyed most about this series is reading about a group of talented individuals building something up from the ground. In this case a security company. Setting goals, recruiting personell, designing and building infrastructure and ships all while facing and overcoming difficult hurdles. Grant's prose is easy to read. His characters believable and fleshed out. The action is well thought out and well described. Along the way we've had ship and taskforce clashes, infiltration missions, criminal hijinks and assorted skulduggery. The title of the book hints at the conclusion of the conflict between Hawkwood and the Brotherhood. Blood curdling but considering the organisations involved not unreasonable. Room was left open for other series in the same setting. I enjoyed this entry and the series immensely and recommend without reservation. ( Reviewed in Australia on July 12, 2018 )

I was disappointed when I came to the end, because I realized that there was no more story to read.
